What is a Pod?

Get set for home ed success! Join a “pod” for our dynamic four-week course designed to get parents going, and connected with others who are at a similar stage. Our Pods aim to bring new home educators together in a nurturing environment, where lasting relationships can be built to help you thrive as a home educator. This interactive course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of home education, covering the following:

Start your journey with introductions and icebreakers, setting the stage for meaningful connections. We will be exploring “Big Picture” concepts, motivations and the importance of intentionality in your approach.

Week 2: Understanding Legalities

Gain an understanding of the legalities of home educating in the UK. Learn about the role of local authorities and best practices for reporting and record-keeping, ensuring you feel confident and supported.

Week 3: Embracing Flexibility

Explore diverse pedagogical approaches. Clarify common misconceptions, including options for exams, all while building connections with fellow participants.

Week 4: Educational Toolkit

We will share practical tips and suggestions to help you get started, and help you connect with others in your local community.  We will share helpful contacts and resources to enhance your home educating experience.

I found the pod incredibly helpful and supportive. It helped me lay a good foundation in my approach to home educating my kids. I have a better understanding of what to expect from the local authority and how to navigate different situations with them. I would recommend anyone considering home education to take this course to give them confidence and reassurance in their choice.
Diana

A fantastically helpful course for anyone seriously considering, or having just started home education for whatever reason, to inform and support and make this big step a lot less daunting! I feel very lucky to have stumbled on this course!
Karen

I do feel you have achieved your goal of empowering us with a foundational knowledge. I felt it gave me a good overview and was a helpful way to stop and reflect. It helped me recognise the approach I've taken naturally already, which has been completely the right way to support our daughter's learning, but also helped us reflect on which approach may work best for our son.
Adele
I found this course to be incredibly informative and reassuring as someone new to home ed. It gave me a sense of not being alone, but connected to something bigger than just our circumstances. It provided space to consider the essential building blocks of HE and what I wanted our experience of home educating to be. Juliet and Alice’s combined expertise and wisdom was invaluable and they created a culture of connection and sharing that was a joy to be part of.
Lucy

I came away feeling inspired, equipped and excited to start my home education journey. Thank you for all you put into this course.
