Encouragement is ‘the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope.’ We want to say to you ‘You can do this!’ ‘You are amazing!’ and ‘You are everything that your children need, even if you have days when you don’t believe it yourself!’. We all experience wobbly days we simply need to find the courage to navigate them.
For those of you who are new to home educating, we hope our stories will inspire and encourage you. For those who are older and wiser, you carry such wisdom and we hope you will share your story with our community – we are keen to learn from you.
For us, learning is rarely punctuated with a start and end time but interwoven into every hour of the week. This gives us immense flexibility when we choose a resource, take up an opportunity or sign up for a course. On a personal level, it also allows us to explore and learn more about the approach or process we want to take as we enable our kids learning journey.
Knowing the path ahead, even if it heads off into the unknown, can increase our confidence. To support you, Streams offers webinars from seasoned home educators, experts, academics and thought leaders. We also have a growing team of well seasoned home educators who can offer mentoring to support you or even get you started.
We’ve found that a beautiful strength of the home education community is that we all believe that learning is lifelong and should foster the innate curiosity that is within us and our children. For some, home educating can be very isolating, but that’s not right! The Streams community is there to support and cheer you on, and connect you with other home educators.
